Business Office

Applications included in courses

The courses in our business management program include Excel™-VBA software applications that may be useful to learn as a stand-alone subject in order to learn how to use this software in business. Each student is automatically eligible for a personal user license that does not expire, but that has to carry a copyright notice and a personal user key on each main worksheet to remain valid and operational. Any changes will automatically disable the software (although neither the worksheets nor the data will be affected by that). The details of how this works will be explained in class.

Like other Excel™ workbooks you can do a lot of customizing to make the software work for you the way you want to run your business. There are not many input panels to navigate in order to create the right setup, because the logic is driven entirely from what you enter into the worksheets. While this may not always be the most efficient approach, it is the most flexible approach, which is the USP (unique selling proposition) of this software. Because of the scope of the software each is designed as a stand-alone application for a single user – that user may operate the software on behalf of multiple clients, because all it takes is to create a client-specific workbook, and to then adapt the worksheets to that client.

There are no restrictions on using the software. There is an annual maintenance fee (voluntary) which entitles you to updates and corrections, which is worth the investment if you plan to use the software in a long-term application or if you want to use the software commercially. As a licensed user you can also introduce the software to others: if you send us the required information we will invite those others to sign-up for the training through you, and we will forward them the documentation and software after they sign up. You will be rewarded either as the coach/trainer (75%) or as the sponsor (25%) of the prospect based on our normal course fees. Any fees you charge for other work done on contract will not be influenced by this sponsorship.

Bookkeeping & Financial Accounting       BPEA_BFA

Some students are interested in having the Excel™ accounting software we used as part of the accounting course available for business reasons. This software is fully functional, operating in an Excel™ workbook, using VBA as the driver. The only real limitation is that it provides a single station environment, but at the same time it offers all the flexibility of Excel™ to allow the user to customize the operations and add analytics to the mix. The purpose of this short course is to get “under the hood” to learn how you can customize the operations to support a small business.
