Seminars & Conference Centers       TDPS_SEM

For larger groups of students (and for corporate clients) we adopt a “seminar” format and encourage people to work within small groups of 3 – 5 individuals. Although the training material is the same, there may be less of an opportunity to address individual questions. This format may be well-suited to courses that are of a more general nature and/or where the experience of other students can be shared in a meaningful way to enrich the experience for all in attendance, such as career strategies. Check the course calendar for information about planned seminar sessions.

Seminars create larger groups to accommodate students who are employed and directed to attend specific training programs by their employer. This provides a great opportunity for any student looking for career advancement to start networking and learning about what might be available in the real world. They can learn from the experience older workers can share with the younger students in the larger group, and vice versa in some cases where new technologies are introduced. Usually the only limitation to this kind of arrangement is that the seminar must be organized in a public venue rather than on company premises.

As a rule we discourage people sharing potentially confidential information on what exactly they are working on because even if all students are exclusively from the same company that does not mean all information should be common knowledge throughout the organization. Note that there is no guarantee that seminar opportunities will be available to match your need to complete a particular course, but if the opportunity to attend a seminar is available that will be noted on your invoice.

  • The cost of attending a seminar will be different from the regular course cost – it will be set by the seminar organizer, who will then contract our services to deliver the training. If you are planning to take a course in a seminar setting do not pay the invoice to register for our course, register with the seminar organizer based on their program.

Courses are priced by contact hours at a rate set by the seminar provider. This fee includes all your study materials, which are the same regardless of the format you take. Some seminars may have catering included, while others are held in a location where students can get to a food-court. The fee base will be identified on your seminar registration form so you can easily assess the costs of the course (excluding catering unless otherwise noted).

Study notes will be provided in an electronic PDF format. The study guide is an Excel™ workbook with a test engine that lets you take the final test when you are ready to do so. When you complete the test you can enter the information supplied by the test engine into our on-line enquiry form page to indicate you completed the course, and you will receive a certificate of completion. You decide when you may be ready to take the next course.

The seminar organizer may set specific hours for course delivery at a specific venue that can be different from the standard course hours that we have published. The number of seminar hours may also slightly vary from the standard contact hours – you will have the self-study materials to complete the normal program in addition to the seminar presentation.

Registration for each course is done on-line, using the enquiry form on the linkage page you reached when you expressed an interest to access these course descriptions. There are usually specific instructions related to the seminar that are different from our standard process, and you must not use that standard process to register for (a) seminar session(s).

Note that for any courses that require computer access we expect you to bring your own laptop computer. It is not strictly a requirement to bring a computer to the session – you can do all assignments at home. We recommend you bring at least a USB memory key to receive additional materials from the instructor. What (if any) facilities may be available at a seminar venue depends on the preparation by the seminar organizer.

Your certificate of completion will be in a PDF format so that you can send it to a prospective employer. It will list the course outline as well as show a more-or-less conventional acknowledgement of your achievement. You can print the certificates and put them in a presentation binder that then represents a complete inventory of everything you have learned.

If you have any additional questions about our training program you can use the registration form to contact us, or use the E-mail address to send us a more detailed question if necessary.
